SIGA Slate
Cliff Notes
A national slate company needed a way to display their award-winning products to both trade and public.
Slate isn’t the most exciting object in the world, but we worked together to come up with a rock-solid design.
The Process
Taking on such a big project required a solid plan and process.
-
Design Assessment
Take on the professionally designed site layout and build out a plan for the site progress.
-
Custom Development
Rather than relying on prebuilt site designs and templates, the site was a completely custom build to allow for the exact experience needed
-
Data Attributes
There was a ton of information that needed to be carried through the site and by using HTML data-attributes we were able write once and use forever.
-
jQuery
There was a lot of custom filtering and display needed, so custom jQuery was the answer and allowed us to solve the needs of the client.
Cut-To-Measure Functionality
One of the key factors in this build was to minimise the use of third party functionality where possible, meaning that the filtering functionality and cross-site data management was all done specifically to meet the needs of the site and the client.
What this mean was that we were actually able to achieve more than what the original scope entailed, but also remove the handbrake of working within the constraints of any third-party systems.
Solid Stuff!
